The Solution

The £40 million McLaren Production Centre (MPC) in Woking is the new manufacturing facility for McLaren sports cars. The building designed by Foster & Partners fits perfectly into the existing environment – as with its vehicles, the quality of the finish is extremely important to McLaren.

Working to a tight budget and programme, Hillstreet carried out asbestos removal, drainage works and hard landscaping on this prestigious scheme. Works included a 5000m² car park constructed utilising a sustainable drainage innovation (4000m³ of permeable block paving) on top of 1200m³ of storm water attenuation. Other items undertaken included 3km of footpaths, a 3000m² service yard, concrete retaining walls and bulk earthworks.
